This cocktail dress, made of French embroidered silk illusion over a silk crepe sheathe, was created for Sherry Lansing (First female to run a major film studio: Paramount). Sherry, not only being a favored client of Mark's is also a very valued friend. Sherry collaborated with Mark, specifying her want and needs for the look she preferred when attending The Visionary Ball. With lifestyles becoming more relaxed and many "formal" events leaning a bit more on the casual side, Mark suggested a short party dress would be perfect. The geometric embroidery in metallic and flat tones of black, mixed with the brushed silver and gold metallic accents, was the agreed upon choice her dress. The finished garment was a perfect blend of a classic look with a modern twist being worn on a very progressive woman's body.
